A few illustration elements were added to the packaging to give the brand a "writing and sketching in my diary" kind of feel. The goal was to get personal with the consumer about their wildest imagination and what they imagine their skin to be in their dreams.
Language like "It's the glow for me", "Good skincare is no longer a figment of your imagination" and "You deserve the skin of your dreams" further enforce the brand's main objective: you can have good skin, too.
My client had an amazing product but needed some fun visual branding to match its personality. The mission was to encourage positive thinking with regards to problematic skin, emphasizing that great skin is not a myth. Introducing, LalaLand!
The whimsical color palette was chosen to stir happy emotions within female adolescents dealing with hormonal acne. All the products are vegan, and the containers are made from recycled plastic with a satin finish to improve grip if the products are being used in the shower.
The names of the products were inspired by the escape of the islands and the charm of summer. I wanted to create a world where good skin was no longer a fairytale for these girls, hence the name "Lala Land."
